(Is Seth not blatantly palming the ball here?)
Adding to the Curry family's already monumental mystique, Seth Curry has decided to transfer to the Duke Blue Devils. After leading the nation in freshman scoring, Curry decided that the competition he faced as a Liberty Flame was not up to par with his abilities. The word on the street was that Seth wanted to transfer to an ACC school in his home state of North Carolina. It looks like he was successful on both counts. Could Seth have chosen a more polarizing program than Duke? Not likely. Apparently Curry's father (former NBA player Dell Curry) was a big part of Seth's transfer process, telling the Associated Press: "Coach K kept telling him the timing couldn't be better, there'll be plenty of opportunities to contribute." Just wait until Curry gets his shot at Seth Greenberg and the Virginia Tech Hokies in ACC play. Seth will be eligible to play for Duke during the 2010-2011 season, following his redshirt year.

Most college transfers haven't done anything in College Basketball when they transfer (hence the transfer) so no one misses that player. This is going to be weird to have him be so hyped up this year and then have to wait until 2010 to see him play again.
ReplyDeleteI guess Coach K saw the rants on this blog into why no one in the ACC went after him and decided to go after him. Well that's all I got to say about this kid...until 2010.
I would agree with Matt that the probability Coach K saw the profile on this blog of the Currys and realized the opportunity he had, he went with it.
ReplyDeleteSteph Curry didn't comment because the issue is moot. Even if he comes back next year for his senior season, he won't face his brother on the court because he'll be on the bench.
I can see the scene... Coach K online with nothing to do last week (right, he really didn't have that much going on). In the mood for Indian Food, he throws the following into a Google Search "Curry at Duke" After scrolling through 857 links, he finds I Love Brackets and goes to it thinking that for some reason it is an Indian restaurant in Raliegh/Durham (don't ask how he confused this). He sees our posts and gives Seth Curry a call...while chomping on Chicken Tikka Misala and Naan.
ReplyDeleteThis blog has finally revolutionized the sport.
I take my comment back about this blog revolutionizing the sport...much like Pitt, this blog has fizzled out (so does that rile up anyone). Anyway, not only are we facing Final Four weekend, but we are having coaching changes all over the place and there is not one post here. I guess I had too much faith in this blog becoming something fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Brother Matt. We have nothing to work with from D-man. It's sad, really.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to re-post my comment from the Pitt Great 8 column, because I feel that it's appropriate...and because I want to make sure my jokes get read. This was in response to Damon's head-scratching assertion that he didn't need to comment on Pitt's heartbreaker:
ReplyDeleteBAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Wow. That was even weaker than I thought. Come ON, Damon! I won't even dignify your useless excuses with the 7.5 million reasons that a Pitt commentary on this blog makes sense.
Congratulations, everybody. "Conquering the 2009 NCAA Tournament" just turned into "The Matrix: Revolutions."
P.S. WE ARE...STILL PLAYING WHILE PITT SITS AT HOME, EVEN IF IT'S ONLY THE NIT!
GO STATE!!!!!!!!
Wait, there are Penn State fans who follow this blog? D-man, I didn't know that you associated with that crowd. Very disappointing. But I guess it is sort of quaint - someone cheering on their team in the NIT championship. Penn State v. Baylor - now that's a clash of the titans.
ReplyDeleteI like that even though the blog has stopped the dedicated few continue to have conversations in the comments section. I hope nothing is wrong with DH or nothing serious happened, if so, I feel bad for downing on this thing...if not, then I don't feel so bad. By the way, I can't wait for that NIT championship...oh wait, yes I can.
ReplyDeleteAlso some updates on the other NCAA tournaments:
CBI: Oregan State one the first game in the best of 3 championship games against UTEP, they are 1 win away from the CBI Championship. Yes that's right the tournament right below the NIT has a best of 3 championship game format...actually its interesting.
CollegeInsiders.com Tournament: Yes there is a tournament below the CBI (most people don't know) on Tuesday Night Old Dominion beat Bradley 66-62 to win this tournament...simply amazing that teams actually wanted to participate in this one.
I'm back.
ReplyDeleteHey...Seth Curry's Liberty squad played in the inaugural CollegeInsiders.com Tournament. More on that to come.
I'd like to personally thank Chaz, Phil, Matt, and Bob for keeping this comment section going, as well as using guilt to motivate me into keeping this blog going. Thanks guys.
