Here's the information you've all been waiting for...the announcing teams for the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament! Pitt fans have lucked out for a second year in a row...pulling the outstanding team of Bill Raftery and Verne Lundquist this weekend (after winning the Gus Johnson lottery last year). Speaking of Mr. Johnson...the greater Pittsburgh area (and myself) seemed to have lucked-out again because Gus and Len Elmore will be calling the Robert Morris vs. Michigan State game Friday night. What luck?!? Great times. As mentioned previously in this blog, the cantankerous Billy Packer is gone from CBS, being replaced by Clark Kellogg on CBS's number one team with Jim Nantz. Kellogg and Nantz will be in Greensboro to announce the games featuring North Carolina and Duke among others. I couldn't be happier right now as a Pitt and Robert Morris fan.

I really hope its Dick Enberg for the Nova game (mostly because I don't know much about the other guy and Enberg can make even the most boring things interesting...I mean he did the announcing at Wimbledon for years). Jay Bilas is a huge plus as he seems to hype up Nova so that could be interesting if they are actually winning the game. My plan, get to work at 7am to watch the game streamed over the internet at 7:20am China time, most people don't show up to work until 9:30am, so I should be good for the entire game without interruption. Hopefully the Great Firewall of China doesn't block CBS's March Madness feed.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin-in-law just let me know about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXMJunmx6_0.
ReplyDeletePriceless.
Matt...Dick Enberg and Jay Bilas would be a nice combo for Villanova and for that entire Philadelphia region. I'm still so excited that Pitt got Raftery and RMU got Gus. If China does block CBS's feed...I have some other websites to give you that should be streaming the game.
ReplyDeleteChaz...well done. I'll probably be posting that video sometime soon. I have qualms with the title of the video though (Dick Vitale Owned). When he makes fun of Jay Bilas being a know-it-all because he went to Duke, that's classic, bitchy stuff. Point to Vitale on that one.
Lundquist and Raftery in Dayton! I think I just got aroused.
ReplyDeleteAJ...well...duh. Another good sign for Pitt!
