The Pitt Panthers reached the Elite Eight for the first time in my lifetime by defeating Xavier on Thursday. My scream is still echoing from when Levance Fields hit that 3-pointer with under a minute remaining. I needed to post something simple, yet very important, that noted the accomplishment of this outstanding squad. What a season...31 victories, their first ever #1 ranking in the polls, defeating the #1 team in the country twice, and earning their first #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Pitt has finally reached the Elite Eight. Let's see what happens next.

Obviously I hope 'Nova wins, but even if they don't, I just hope it is a close game and both teams fight to win. I don't want this game to be a Lousiville v Arizona type of game, but if Pitt's 3 prior games are an indication it should be an interesting one.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, 'Nova has far exceeded my expectations this season, its all gravy right now, so I will be happy no matter what happens (although much happier if 'Nova pulls it out).
