Better late than never with these picks. Not that there's anything else to discuss.

Michigan State over Louisville
Reasons:
- I'm tired of picking against the Big 10.
- If a certain Big East team seeded No. 1 can't reach the Final Four, I don't want all the other Big East teams seeded No. 1 to make it there.
- People LOVE talking about how good of a coach Tom Izzo is...this will give those people another opportunity to gush.
- The Spartans can slow down anybody with their sleep-inducing Big 10 style of play. Including Louisville. I think.
- I couldn't end up picking all the #1 seeds to reach the Final Four. That would just be boring.
- Confidence in this pick: 5.1
Reasons:
- If North Carolina wins, this blog will be much more fun over the next week.
- I'll take Roy Williams over Jeff Capel in the coaching match-up please.
- Again...do you really think that sports fans are done hearing about Tyler Hansbrough? This is going to continue for another week folks. Not much you can do about it.
- In college sports...especially basketball...all-round skill ends up winning 9 out of 10 times. I'm sorry...but UNC just has the most talent of any team in this tournament. For instance, have I mentioned my love of Mega Star Ty Lawson lately?
- I don't want certain followers of this blog to kill me.
- Confidence in this pick: 8.8

I know that one game is over, but to be true to my picks, I picked Louisville (they lost, so I am being honest).
ReplyDeleteI know that UNC is the better team, but I have OU going to the final four, so I have to stick with them, plus I have a vested interest in seeing OU make it over UNC as UNC is not a good matchup for 'Nova.
By the way, with the 'Nova v Pitt game being so good, I am expecting a post about it (not to gloat, but I was actually hoping for a running diary to see what your thoughts were throughout the game).
Please don't tell me that this blog has lost steam because of Pitt's heartbreaker last night. We've shared too much, come too far, dreamed too big to let things fizzle out just as we reach the tournament's climactic hour.
ReplyDeleteI agree Charles, I know there are a lot of Pitt fans on this thing and I also know if they won we would have like 2 or 3 posts on the game. All I am asking is one post about the game and about what people thought, I didn't get to watch 1 minute of the game, so I have to relive the game vicariously through reading thoughts on this blog.
ReplyDeleteMatt, what is up with all this friendship? "I agree Charles." Why not, "I agree, Angry Chaz"?
ReplyDeleteSomehow Chaz got on these comments and influenced everyone to just all get along.
But I say, Matt, I hate you and your crummy 'nova team for ruining all my hopes and dreams. "step the f off."
-Bitter Phil
I am going to bring in comments from the previous post.
ReplyDeleteFirst, DH, I restate the fact that if Pitt would have won, we would have had 2 or 3 posts about the game and then the upcoming final four, as of right now we don't have anything mentioning even the results from this past weekend. We are not asking you to be a newspaper and say who won and what not, but just some thoughts about the games and who looks like a favorite to win or something like that.
Bitter Phil, I guess you are trying to bait me into hating you or something or you want me to gloat a little so that others hate me, okay so I guess I should say something stupid like, "The Wildcats threw those Panthers back into their Pitt...chuckle...chuckle."
My game is not to blast those teams I respect (for instance I don't like Duke, so Eat IT Blue Devils, but I don't mind Pitt, so sorry folks), but to just be happy when my team does well...and I'm very happy right now even if you are bitter or angry or whatever, so maybe you can hate me for that...or not.
